In an attempt to become a "hip" member of society, I've decided to start a blog about my summer's travels. Who knows, maybe this will even help me organize my trip. To start things off, I'm going to try to concentrate on what to pack. By my saying I'm going to concentrate, I mean you can do my thinking for me.
Your task is this... for those of you who have traveled abroad, let me know what item(s) you absolutely could not have lived without.
I'm going to try to cheat the system by using a hiking backpack as my carry-on in order to avoid any unnecessary baggage charges. So, needless to say, your item of necessity will have to be of reasonable size and weight. I know many of us cannot live without our flat screen TV's or bicycles, however; I may get looks from people as I try to lug either one though the ticket line.
